Check out Canare's 4S11 cable. It is sometimes referred to as "StarQuad" since it's a 4 conductor wire that can be used to bi-wire (at 14 AWG per conductor) or combined for standard runs (at 11 AWG). It's very well made, versatile, Japanese wire that sells for less than a buck forty per foot. I typically just tin the ends with silver solder, but you can also buy spades or locking banana plugs to your liking. Canare, like Belden, is sold through a number of re-sellers including Blue Jeans Cable, Marketek, and on eBay. I've never bought boutique brands of speaker wire, but whatever floats your boat. Interconnects I believe are a different story in that I can more readily distinguish between their sonic attributes than I can speaker wire.
