bda1 not locking properly on 192khz
« on: 8 Mar 2012, 07:15 am »
 good morning

i have problem with hiface evo and 24 /192 files.
my pc win7 x64  ultimate -hiface evo -bryston bda1 dac.
i play with jriver and wasapi event style , tried 100 mlsecs and 250 milsecs buffer ,i have 8 gb ram memory and usb data goes to hiface so green led is constant on.
still when i play  24/192 files  the sound makes small instant stops and leds on dac go on-off like it's not locking on sample rate properly.
it does that only with 192 samplerate ,and with both spdif and aes/ebu cables from belden (1694a - 1800f )
strangely i used one dnm xlr and dac locked stable although it's not aes/ebu but only xlr ic !!!!
do you have any idea about and a solution?
thanks
regards from creta

Hi project

I can guarantee you it is not the BDA - if it was it would not lock on even the lower bit rates. One of the things I found when I was developing the BDP digital player was how much difficulty some of the other operating systems and sound cards had with the higher bit rates :duh:

dear james
i know that it's not bda1 fault because as you see i am telling that i puted one dnm ribbon xlr ic and 192 rate locked stable .
i am wondering if it's jitter problem of the usb cable from pc to hiface (1.8m long )
maybe i should try shorter one ??

Gee I can not see the mentioned cable length affecting the signal quality to that level but I guess it is worth a try.
