Danny,

It's preferable to be in both camps, but I suggest to make that distinction clear when commenting.  I'm actually getting kind of tired of the knee-jerking position from subjectivists that those of us who are interested in objective measurements can't/don't listen.  When Ric Schultz calls listening the "only true knowledge in audio" I laugh out loud.

There are plenty of "kooks" involved in audio, but I haven't found them to be exclusive to any particular portion of it.  :)

Cheers,

Dave.

I am with you man. I get the same knee jerk reaction when I become a "kook" for recommending decent cables or I'm a snake oil salesman because I offer some high end capacitors.

Ironically, Discussion of your cohort's product was banned for being *too* "flat earth".  And, for the record - here's the link:

Hilarious!

If you build a kit you must not make positive comments?

Make sure you buy crappy kits if you want to comment on this website.

Funny huh.

I guess it depends which camp you're in as to who the guys are that refuse to see beyond what they've been told. They might think the subjective camp are the flat earth guys.

I can't say that anything going on over there has bothered me any. I haven't even heard of that forum being mentioned much in many years.

I was never banned from there. I think if anyone talked about any of my products there it just turned into a subjective verses flat earth debate. They didn't want to hear anything about any companies selling snake oiled boutique capacitors....

Mmm... that's not how I read/remember it. Seemed like since you sell your own drivers and kits that the discussions got a little heated when your products came up and you posted responses. Just wasn't a good fit. They post 'subjective' stuff there all the time. In fact Jon wrote an amazing post on boutique caps years ago which I can no longer find. Just sayin...

AVS though, oh man, that ain't no place for audiophiles.

The kinda guys who all have receivers instead of separates (not that there is anything necessarily wrong with receivers), and roll their eyes at "old fashioned" tubes.
