The prices of the knobs seem expensive, but in fact they are not. I happen to hear from a reliable source (Pravda) that the man who is providing those knobs, has planted the trees themselves, some 30 years ago. He feeded and brought them up with the best cow manure he could find only from the offspring of Agro Acres Marquis Patsy, a Canadian Holstein, famous for her manure. He wiped the trees clean after every downpour, to mimise the terrible impact of vicious wood sucking insects.
The trees are a certain kind of Spruce, specially selected for their audiophile qualities. However, Spruce from Denmark sounded different than from Australia. A rare breed out of Patagonia finally made it. The special sound characteristics will be destroyed if you handle or cut the wood with metal. Especially steel is hazardous for the fine delicate inner intrinsical nuances of the Spruce resonances. Axes are not allowed. Saws with an even amount of teeth made from asynchronous melted bronze (Federal-B bronze) is the only method to be used.
So it is not that expensive , is it?
