Making a Sine Wave CD Test Disc
« on: 25 Apr 2004, 11:14 pm »
Dear All,

I am making my sub-woofer box.  The Drivers have a resonant frequency of approx 21-23 Hz.  I wanted to measure Qes, Qts, Qms but the low cost audio oscillator I have has a gap around the 20 Hz mark ... just where I want to measure.

But if I made a CD with some sine wave signals then the problem would be solved.

I have SoundBlaster Live! with its associated software, and the Win XP and Win 98 stuff, but I cannot find the solution in there.

I have (somewhere) some Midi mixing programs but have never used them.

How can I generate some sine waves (digitally) and put these onto an audio CD to use my lovely CD player as my audio oscillator??

Any thoughts?

Regards,
MW

Check out this link
http://www.nch.com.au/tonegen/index.html

it is a tone generation program, will do any frequency you want in sine or other wave forms.  It will output to a wav file, which you can burn to a CD.
