Looking for a Super V thread
« on: 5 Nov 2011, 05:07 am »
Ive been looking for a thread I saw awhile back, it featured a Super V and it had the amp mounted behind the lower driver in the pix. Ive searched 6 ways to sunday and I cant find it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, R.K.

Check out the gallery of the user jparkhur

I'm pretty sure the early pictures of the merlot super-v cabinets he did are what you're looking for.

This design is nice too, I think Danny told me that amp was smaller than the PEQ370. I'm not so sure now that I am looking at it again.

Some VERY nice DIY builders out there!

Hey Randy.....you can minimize the height of the plate by letting the amp thru the floor. I had 3 layers of 3/4 there and then added a 1" rim at bottom to protect the amp in case of collapse or while moving the speaker. this required about a 1" rim at top doe the amp plate surround to rest upon. It ends up open on the bottom (great cooling). This extra weight at rear more than compensates for an overly front heavy design. For me it was about negating the need for forward feet. BTW.....these turned out 162 1/2 lbs a piece.....hope you have forklift accessibility  :rotflmao:
