Networked, 2.2, digital system in a dedicated room. Goals: accurate timbre on acoustic music, low distortion, even frequency response.

Room Description
Basement room, heavily soundproofed with QuietRock and mineral wool insulation. Double gasketed doors with drop seals.
Acoustic Treatment
Panels, diffusers, and bass traps from GIK, RPG, Vicoustic, and ASC.
Listening Impressions
The very quiet room and controlled acoustics let one hear the unique character of each recording.
Media Storage
Music library (~3500 albums) is stored as FLAC files on a NAS with MinimServer. Qobuz subscription.
Other Comments
The speakers' controlled directivity provides mostly direct sound. Thus one hears the ambiance on the recording, not the sound of the listening room.

The Anthem STR Preamp has (1) digital crossover for the subs; (2) ARC automatic EQ, used in the bass; and (3) tone controls, used occasionally to fix harsh or muddy recordings.
