looking for some phones for work
« on: 28 Jun 2007, 03:38 pm »
Hi

I am looking for some nice headphones for work.  I don't want to spend over $150 but that is really my only sticking point.  That and they should be able to run right off my computer or one of those TotalBit Head like units

Thanks

Grado's are low impedance and will run off of a computer, but they are open and will leak sound, I'm not familiar with closed phones that are in your price range.

Check out the reviews of various phones at:

It's a decision tree to help you pick phones

I use Grado SR-60s at work.  At a level I typically listen to them, I can take them off my head, lay them about a foot away, and can hear nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  They make leak if you crank them, but I like my hearing.

I highly recommend Grado SR-80s. I've owned mine for 5-6 years. For work, they're perfect...nobody will think to take them, and only you know how great they sound.

Hey!

Yup! like others above me... here is another vote for Grado. :D

  Personally I've been using my SR60 since 1996.... 11 years now!!! :o

If you are looking for a open-air type headphone that could be plug into any thing than Grado will do. I use it with anything from protable CDP, laptop computer to the 3wpc EL84 SE amp in my Akai M8 R2R tape deck. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:
