Where to get Teac A-L700P???
« on: 17 Oct 2006, 10:40 pm »
Hi Guys,
Been searching for the Teac A-L700P to no avail. Anyone has any ideas where to get them (preferbly new)?

Also, can Vinnie do a 110V to 230V PS conversion?

Thanks!

They have been discontinued. Your best bet is the used market. Look in Trading Post.

Here is a modded one:

Hi ws2k,

Welcome to audiocircle and the RWA forum.

I discontinued modifying the Teac a while back and Tubo is correct...they have been discontinued.  The trading post here is a good place to look for one.  You might also want to post a "wanted to buy" ad here and also on audiogon.  There was a time when you could by them for under $100.  People jumped all over them and perhaps there are a few out there just sitting in a closet...

I do not do 110V to 230V conversions.

Good luck,

Vinnie

That's a nice deal on the RW Teac....it's a very good amp, and $400.00 is a great price. What would top it....the RW Sig. 30....but you'll pay more.
I speak from experience....I own a RW Teac, and I'm very happy with it.  :green:

Well, it is 30 watts per channel and SLA battery powered (the modded one), but "the buck stops there."  It doesn't sound like a Signature 30.  I've tried so many mods to that Teac and while it does sound very nice for the $$$, I couldn't get close the same level of refinement as the Sig 30.  The Sig 30 has a much cleaner circuit board layout, fewer parts, and a better synergy of all the parts.

Still, for $400.00 it is really good SLA powered amp!  In cases where the 6-watts of the Clari-T aren't enough, this modded Teac will bring in the guns!   :uzi:

Hey Chris,

Glad you are enjoying it... it's been close to a year now, right?

See what I'm talkin' about!?  :green:

I just know there are a lot of these still out there.  I remember there was a lot of talk about them on the Klipsch forum a while back...

Best regards,

Vinnie
