Which component typically benefits most from the Tenderfoot?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer to that, because every system will be different in that regard. Could be any component in a system. In general, all audio components in a system will benefit with isolation, individually and synergistically together. If I had to choose one component, overall, based on the odds to be most likely to benefit most substantially in any given system, I'd say the DAC. Or in an analog system, the phono stage or preamp.

Amplifiers often have bottom plates that are too thin to support the amplifier's weight without bending. Tenderfeet placed under the very corners/edges where the chassis is rigid and strong will support the amp and usually provide best sonic results. You usually don't have to remove the stock feet; just lift the component up enough to slide the Tenderfeet (or Big Tall Tenderfeet) under the chassis alongside the stock feet at or near the corners, one corner at a time. At the back corner where you have poor access, you might pry up the corner with a stick or something and slip the Tenderfoot into place or with some ingenuity find another solution.

So the tenderfeet are firm enough that the top would not deform or compress under the weight?

With a 50+ pound amp, you'll have very slight, virtually negligible compression of Extra-Firm Tenderfeet.
