It may sound irrelevant to some, but building a "retirement system" one has to consider the weight of a component.  So, pray tell, how much does it weigh?

Ah, 40 lbs is about my limit. After that I have to get some brawny high school boys to lug stuff around.  Thanks, Jim.

P.S. You may have answered this already, but when does it go live with the dealers?

James

Here we are listening to the new BI-200, first he says 😆😆 a lot has happened here over time.

Quote: this Bi-200 is probably the top three best and most musical 200 watts on the market.

It warms my heart to receive such feedback.

Hello James - volume control question -

I am a big fan of the BP-17 volume control - meaning fine control at low/medium volume and more aggressive (faster changes per degree of knob rotation) as you get louder.

Does the Bi200/BP-19 use the same design philosophy?

 Hi
I am having difficulty in starting a new thread

Can someone advise me on my equipment. I have a bcd1 Bryston bp26 and Bryston 4b sst

I have had them for many years and have cherished the sound but I am having a few problems now that I have become a pensioner and funds are limited.

Firstly the connection on the back of my bp26 plays up in that the cables going into the rca sockets don’t connect properly ; in that one channel plays and not the other. After twiggling the cables the other channel plays. It’s seems that the connectors at the back need servicing. . Is this common.
Secondly after trying to get both channels working for the cd player to work the latter stopped working altogether. I changed the power cable etc.. but to no avail. No current is going through the cd  playerwhich makes me think that some kind of internal fuse in the cd player or connection has broken. I live in London

Can anyone assist as my system is the only thing that keeps me going at present.

Hi James

Thank you for your response. I will ring them on Monday and hopefully I will get them fixed.

If there are no parts for the Bcd1 is the Bcd3 the only cd player you have or will there be a newer version on the horizon

Hi - Philips discontinued the drive in the BCD-1 so no parts available.
No plans for another CD player other than the BCD-3 which strangely still sells very well.
