I'm enjoying One Hundred Years of Solitude based on the book of the same title by Gabriel García Márquez . I read "Love in the Time of Cholera" years ago but never got around to reading his other novels.

That's on my list, for some reason I haven't gotten around to it yet.  Many years ago my roommate was reading it and I always intended to pick it up, but life got in the way.

American Primeval is the most authentic, grittiest, meanest, bloodthirsty, gripping, and fascinating western since 2015's "The Revenant." I watched all 6 episodes non-stop, my advise is to set aside a 6 hour block of time because you will be transported to Utah in 1857 and won't want to leave.

American Primeval was written by Mark L. Smith, he and Alejandro G. Iñárritu wrote the revenge saga “The Revenant,” the brutality is similar.

The story follows Taylor Kitsch as a mountain man guiding a mother and son, played by Betty Gilpin and Preston Mota through the unsettled Utah wilderness surrounded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints formed militias, the US Army, very pissed-off Indians and murderous bounty hunters, all trying to claim Utah for their own and not hesitating to kill anyone who stands in their way. The action is put in motion by the real-life Mountain Meadows Massacre, in which church militia members slaughtered some 120 members of an emigrant wagon train.

Rated R for scalpings, rapes, massacres, animal carcasses which are hung, skinned, drained and boiled, arrows, hatchets and guns.
