TVC or DAC
« on: 7 Jun 2008, 12:41 pm »
Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade my current system that consists of the following :-

CD - Marantz CD63SE
Amp - Consonance M100-06 (EL34)
Speaker - Mission 772

Should I go for TVC or DAC ? Heard that the DAC give a tubey sound. Is that true ?

Yes, it is true. If you can tweak around with Promitheus DAC it sounds even much better.

If you can afford the TVC Reference C-core you should go for it. Both TVC and DAC (even with the new tube DAC from Nicholas) are an excellent combination in your system.

Good luck,
Tan

Hi Tan,

Is only to choose ONE, which one you advise ? DAC or TVC ? If DAC that provide tubey sound, would it mess up the current sound as I'm already using tube amp ? FYI, my CD63SE is modified player.

Any idea on the payment ? COD or pay first then deliver ? Understand that need to wait for a long period.

Regards,
kong

Is your amp an intergrated one. Only becauce you did not mention the existing preamp. If you have a power amp only buy the TVC.

A TVC is certainly suitable. Place it between your CDP and int. amp.

TVC or DAC -- either way it's a win-win for you.
