Tutorial on how to shrink a HAL-O III damper
« on: 15 Apr 2020, 05:54 pm »
Hello,

I bought a pair of HAL-O III "50" stabilizers to treat a pair of Mullard GZ32's. The tube is 46mm in its widest point where I'd like to place the HAL-O III

Size of the GZ32 :

How to shrink the HAL-O III (that's too large) without harming it?

Is there a video tutorial or something?

I apologize if this question was already asked. I didn't find it.

Thanks,
Gianluca

I don't think they are shrinkable.  :dunno:

Anyhow, welcome to Audio Circle.  :D

Obviously you have to tighten the ring at your own risk, is there need a tutorial for it?

As may be difficult model with precision the spring effect of a metal bar, in this case titanium I could suggest you dont modify the metal ring and use felt pads or rubber pads under the wheels, if this rectifier works hot you will need keep a eye on the pads temperature to avoid a fire though.

Thank you for your replies!

I succeeded to tighten the HAL-O III dampers in order to adhere to the GZ32's. I applied a certain strenght but they don't seem to have suffered much.
