I'm looking to run longer IC's from my preamp to amps so that I can put my preamp at my listening position (MacGyver style remote I guess?). This would force pretty long IC's ~20ft to furthest amp if I went around the room periphery. I was thinking of putting down a rug, and running them underneath it to the amps, which would shorten the distance by a little more than half---and save money on wire. There is not usually much traffic across my listening room/office except me. Now to the question----Would foot traffic put a strain on the IC's. I've looked into a remote for my preamp, and the cost of DIYing some longer interconnects comes out cheaper. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Brad
