In fact he and I are currently working on a project that when completed will register on seismic measuring equipment around the world.  aa

This is going to be a huge job and it's going to take a long time.

But I was thinking of a way to speed the job up.  I thought about making molds and filling them with something, but ultimately I think it will be easier to make these is 8 foot x 2 foot strips and cut them down into 2 foot x 2 foot units that can be placed into the checkerboard pattern.  I'm not totally sure I can make 50 of these units perfectly square, but I like my chances much better if I make 8 foot diffusor strips and cut them into perfect squares AFTER construction.

Also, I have to look into the fire code for this building to make ABSOLUTELY sure I won't be voiding the house insurance by blocking the door.  This did not even occur to me until a couple of days ago.

Windows are considered fire escapes in some areas as well. IIRC you mentioned boarding up a couple windows on a thread a while back.

Yeah, but I want to cover ALL the windows and doors (except 1 door).

This probably will not be a problem, it's just like any other room with only 1 door, but I just want to make REALLY sure.
