Have a problem with my 5.1
« on: 19 Apr 2004, 02:55 am »
The woofer quit on one of my (4) 5.1's. Tweeter still works fine. I have emailed Nohr customer service about this, but in the meantime, have any of you had this happen and what did you have to do to get it fixed/replaced. The website says that the warranty is 5 years and I have only had the speakers for less than 1 year.
Thanks,
Denny

Have you opened up the speaker to make sure there isn't a loose connection? Haven't had any trouble with my 5.1s as of yet.

I thought about doing that, but only after hearing from Michael. I dont want to screw up any warrantee that might apply.
Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to get one  :? .

I agree with Bryan.

Although it's possible, drivers VERY rarely fail unless they are damaged through misuse.

I would think that one of the driver connections has most likely come loose.

Unfortunately I have no other ideas. Try email Namphung and see what she says. My guess now is either the driver has gone kaput or something in the crossover has.

They are having me check the crossover with an OHM meter. I have to borrow one this weekend and hopefully it will narrow down the problem.

Meter indicated that its a bad driver. NOW I have to send it to them to confirm that its a bad driver. Maybe I will have a speaker back in service by the time The Return of the King ( SE) comes out.  :(
