Perhaps the under $500 open baffles would also qualify as C&C. Powered by a very inexpensive APPJ-Miniwatt tube amp and cheap class D with a Rolls active crossover

I believe they are C&C enough to discuss. The full range drivers on top are Lii Audio F-15's powered by a APPJ/Miniwatt S1 fronted by a FX tube preamp. The bass woofers on bottom are 15 inch Eminence Alphas powered by a class D amp. The F-15's run full range with nothing in the signal path to mar the sound. The Alpha's are filtered by a Rolls active crossover. I will be swapping the WiiM mini source for a WiiM Pro+ once it goes on sale during Amazon's 10/8 Prime sale. The Schiit Modi MB will remain in place.

Here's another picture of the F-15 over Alphas with different components. I thought they sounded great in this room but they sound even better in the garage.

The least expensive of all my OB's would be these which cost nothing. The 16" woofers were salvaged from Sansui's left on the curb. The 8" Zenith alnico's were salvaged from a $35 thrift store console which I bought and sold its tube amp for $100. That same console yielded a pair of the amazing 49CZ's which I use in another OB set up. All my OB's are bi-amped using a flea watt tube amp for the HF and a more powerful solid state for the LF.

With these I use a 70hz low pass filter on the bass woofers while the Zeniths run full range. Foam hockey pucks help stabilize and reduce any resonance between drivers.
