Hi,
I just purchased a B60RPH C series and I do not have turntable right now. However there is a 60hz hum when I output the phono section. I have completely isolated the unit, disconnecting all inputs as well as the speaker connections, listening only through the headphone jack with the B60 plugged directly into the wall.  I have tried several outlets on different circuits in the house with no change in the hum.  I was expecting a quiet, phono white/pink noise type sound through the phono input. Am I missing something or is there a problem with the unit. Thanks for any advice.

Hi

Do you have anything plugged into the Phono Section?

No, nothing is plugged into any input.

OK so i am thinking that without the ground the table would supply is the reason for the hum.

Hi,
I found an old pair of shorting plugs but one must be bad. I can eliminate the hum in one channel with the plugs in and when I switch plugs the hum stops in the other channel. Problem solved?  I'll have to get my hands on a turntable to confirm. Thanks for the guidance.
PS. I can't believe i found those old plugs! I can' t remember what I did 5 minutes ago. Priorities I guess. :D
