What is the best crossover point for a T26SG tweeter in a 3 way design?

Looking for the FRD/ZMA data file but can't find it.

We recommend crossing the T26 in the 1700-2000 Hz Range in either 2 or 3 ways speakers, but it really depends on the application.

We don't have any FRD or ZMA files for our drivers, as the driver's response will change quite a lot, depending on the baffle/cabinet you put the driver into.

After finishing the speakers i'm working on I'm thinking about the X-statik. Unless Danny comes out with the new speaker he mentions in his video's.

I have a set of X-Statik with maxed out crossovers in my listening room and they are better than any other speaker I’ve ever heard. I still really like my Encores but the X-Statik is a level above and then some.

What would be really cool would be the X-Static with a Neo3 tweeter.

And even better than that would be if that Neo3 tweeter was open on the back.

While we are at it, let's step up the mid-bass woofers to the M165NQ/16's, and then stack four open baffle woofers below.

Oh wait, we have that speaker. It is the NX-Otica.

You’re missing the point, Danny.  X-Statiks have the lower cost mids and woofers which would be elevated with a OB neo3 tweeter.  The point is to have a step between X-Statiks and NX-Oticas.

True!  I never thought I’d see the Neo3 mated to any midrange driver except the M165NQ’s.  But then the NX Bravo happened and I thought the X-Static might now be an option.

On the other hand I can see that any business has to avoid ‘model creep’’.  It’s just not feasible to offer every variation of every option that is possible.

I am afraid it will blur the lines between them, but I will consider it.

Even though it would be a fun speaker, I have no intention of every building an X-Static, I am quite happy with the NX-Oticas and LineForces.

I’m pretty happy with all of my speakers too.  The Super7 are still my end game speakers.  I would love to get the Line Forces but they are too much trouble and expensive for me.

The X-Statiks are also great but the last time I listened to them they sounded a little muted.  I know the encore is a great tweeter but not right after hearing the Neo3.

I get the blurry lines.  I just thought it was a cool idea.

Danny designed an X-Static with a Neo3 in 2006--the OB-5.  Check out the Archive section on the GR Research website. I have a pair and they are wonderful speakers.  It is taking Super Minis and a pair of Double Troubles to better them.

Yeah, I’m sure those sound great.  Make the tweeter open baffle and they could be even better.  The only downside would be the baffle might need to be CNC cut.

That was an OB-5. It used the smaller M-130 sized woofers.
