WTT Loose Bearing Cup, Adhesive failing
« on: 11 Oct 2011, 05:44 pm »
Hi Circle
I have a WTT Classic w the carbon fiber arm.  The Bearing Cup has the Marigo mod which is a brass clamp which completely surrounds the cup.  The cup was attached to the plinth with a square adhesive coated piece approx 1 inch square by maybe a couple of mm thick which fits between the plinth and the  (almost looks like a double sided adhesive rubber patch) This may have been part of the Marigo mod, done by the previous owner, and the adhesive square actually elevates the cup a little (needed to accomodate the clamp which protrudes below the cup).  Now that the adhesive is failing, any suggestions on how to reattach the cup to the plinth ?

You could use a square of 3M adhesive foam..  or I'd probably just juse a bit of silicone and let it set. The silicone should hold fine and you could still remove the cup at any time if necessary.

Mike
Thanks much.  Ever hear of this happening ?  What do you think of this Marigo mod ?
