I loved my BDP1 - and encouraged a good buddy of mine looking to upgrade his system to buy a used bdp1 and BDA2. He’s having issues with the bdp-1 - and hoping someone can help!   He’s got a call into Bryston - but they’re not open until next week.

Using the  BDP-1 as a Roon end point - it freezes up after about 10 minutes of use after a reboot.   trouble shooting so far:

1.  Updating the firmware
2.  Software reboot
3.  Resetting to factory
4.  Clearing the queue
5.  Shutting off the usb and other services
6.  Switching the Ethernet cables
7.  Connecting it to a separate standalone router with no other connections

Bryston will get your friend fixed up.  I had to reflash the CF operating system card a couple of times back when i owned my two BDP-1s.  Not sure how they got corrupted, but they did.  Have BDP-2s now.  Been much less quirky than the earlier versions.
