Suddenly I feel like the W.O.P.R. computer in "War Games" when directed to play tic-tac-toe.

WINNER: NONE

Just too many good bands out there right now.....  8)

Big time +1 on the Wilco

Though I do have soft spot for Widespread Panic as well.

Pearl Jam.

You may have heard of them, but if you haven't, check out the band "Brad". Per wiki they're still active. Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam is one of the players, and the music is simply incredible. I'm not a big fan of Pearl Jam, but this shit just blows my mind. The vocalist, Shawn Smith, is one of the best I've ever heard. The music is modern, but has a funky 70's groove that makes it incredibly interesting. I can't think of a single category this music fits in. It's killer. My best find of 2011.

im from the area. Brad plays all the time. The song Alpental is about a local ski area (I used to instruct there, btw. Only place in the state with triple black diamond runs. sooo steep. not for the weak)  A far far better band than either is Screaming Tree's.

I'm not one to follow the crowd.  But make that one more for Wilco.
