Onix Rocket RS250 MKll Speakers
« on: 8 Oct 2011, 01:15 pm »
Just purchased the above speakers for a fraction of the cost $250!  :thumb: looking foward to getting them and trying them with my Peachtree audio, Jolida FX 10 or my solid state Harmon Kardon amp

Does anyone have these? If so, share your pro's and con's

Thanks

I have a pair, they will perform well above what you paid. :)

Mine serve as rear duties for HT action, but can do 2 channel easy.  :thumb:

Mine are red Ebony.

Used to have a pair.  They are mainly designed for home theater, and that's where they excel, even as front speakers with sub.

For pure 2-channel music, Onix's own Reference 1 speakers go for around $350-400 used on Agon and are FAR better speakers for music.

I have a pair of MK I and....they're not as good as yours. They are beautiful speakers and like juice. I saw some rockets on CL for a steal recently and was tempted. Those were a Mark Schifter creation sold by AV123 and had a cult following for a while.

The MK I were veiled and only good for background listening, I've heard the second generation was a lot better and that they were comparable to top $300-400 speakers at the time. Look way better than those others however.

Are you using a sub? Little speakers are getting better all the time. :thumb:
