What a steal!  I loved my Omni's for 2 channel music and they are also great for sports.  The design lends itself well to feeling like you're in the stadium.

Do they also have the same crossovers as the x-ls encore?

Thanks.  I've wanted to try these for quite a while ( emac's comments on them...).  As I have x-ls that are being very, very lightly used I figure it is worth inquiring if you happened to have any of the x-omni crossovers (sans drivers) at the sale price?

Yes these are at a steal of a price
X-omni's are fantastic as mains or surrounds.
I currently use two sets as back and side surrounds
Great design

Danny,  I'm sure you have answered this somewhere,  how do the stock x-omnis compare to the stock A/V-Os  ?

I upgraded to Ninja Master crossovers and have the regular crossovers available.

I bought a pair of the X-OMNI's and they are great speakers. I use them as mains in a second system built around a MAC receiver. They also worked very well with my 35 watt tube amp. The sound stage is wide and deep, and imaging is very good. Off access response is also good. This is my second GR Research product and I feel bang for the buck is tremendous. Nothing can touch them at this price or quadruple the price from any manufacturer.

So I've got some crossovers on the way.  Can someone point me to x-omni plans?

If I like these I'm going to have to get the x-ls encore kit to put back in my enclosures :tempted:

Hey Django, how you doing, man?

I think you are going to like the X-Omni, the imaging is stellar. The only down side is the dynamics are restricted without mega power.

Pretty much what I'd thought initially, especially once I changed to the Ninja crossovers.  But Danny's own O-3's are better pretty much across the board.

Hey back at ya!

Doing fine.  I figure the Omnis will be a fun little project for not too much money.  I have a battery kit coming for the Virtue 2 so that should be fun as well.   And I am now officially intrigued by the Optocoupler.  Might have to make one of those as well...Anything new in your audio world?

I just ordered a pair of X-Omni's from Danny yesterday and I'm just seeing your "dynamics/mega power" comment here now.  :duh:

How much power is needed to drive these properly?

Thanks!

I've run my omnis with 17.5, 40, 60, and 250 watts of power.  In all cases they can throw a big soundstage.  They may not have the most forward sound that some people prefer but I don't think they lack in dynamics.  I do think they may have some limitations if your room is particularly big.  They are only a 2-way after all.  Otherwise I don't think you'll have any problems.
