X-Omni sale!

These are one of the most overlooked speakers out there. These are ideal for surround speakers and work great as left and right mains. These easily outperform the highly sold X-LS Encore that uses the same drivers. These are more transparent having no box sound to them, and the sound stage is larger, more layered, and deeper. These are truly a gem.
I have these in stock as pictured (with grills) slashed down to $290 a pair.

I even have some without grills for $275 a pair.

Looks like Mascarey Rosa Satin to me...

Would these make decent surrounds to pair with my LS6?

I am using X-Omni's with No Rez and Ninja Master crossovers for my mains. When my LS6's are built I plan to try the X-Omni's as surrounds. I don't have the space to permanently use them as surrounds, but I do hope to watch some movies with them. They should be a lot better the AV123 ELT525's I'm currently using.

The OMNI's make FANTASTIC surrounds! Probably the best I've ever heard. The soundstage they present for effects is eerie.

HI Danny,
    I have a few questions:
1.  Is the pair in the dark wood, without the grills (the top photo without grills in the darker wood) available?  If so what wood is that?
2.  What is an ideal inexpensive amp for these?  Would a Virtue 2.1 work well for a bedroom system at low volumes?
3.  Do you have the specs available somewhere for them?

Thanks,
Morgan

I thought the Gr-research were difference from the av123/onix stuff? The tweeter in the gr kit also looks different.

Correct, they are different. I don't have the specs but I thought they were around 8 to 8-1/2" square and about 38" tall but I could be wrong.

Box plans for the X-Omni are here: http://gr-research.com/pdf/X-omni%20box.pdf

It has 86db sensitivity and is 8 ohms.

They use the same drivers as the X-LS Encore: Peerless top level tweeter and 6.5" woofer.

The color and finished pictured is the only color there is. All of those pictured are the same just in different lighting.

They are different than my A/V-O's in that all of the drivers are different, but they are of the same design.

Like any omni directional speaker they are best kept out away from walls so that the wall reflection will be heard as a late arriving reflection and not as part of the main signal.

Hmmm, so $149 for the X-LS Encore + build your own X-Omni box, or $290 for the complete pair.  Can't lose either way, but the complete Omni's are a sweet deal!

I use my X-Omnis for surrounds and agree they are excellent for that purpose.

1.  Is the pair in the dark wood, without the grills (the top photo without grills in the darker wood) available?  If so what wood is that?
The wood is Mascarey with a Rosa Satin finish.

"Mascarey (Pilon) Scientific Name - Hyronima Alchoroneoides - is a beautifully variegated wood which is light reddish brown to deep red to chocolate and dark brown heartwood. This species is often referred to as Sapele in other countries.   Mascarey has a low luster, with a moderately coarse texture.  Mascarey carries a Janka rating of 1,700 at 12% moisture content, making it harder than Hard Maple, White Oak and Northern Red Oak.  It has good working properties in all operations.  Used for flooring, furniture, cabinetry, decorative veneers, stair treads and marine work."

X-Omni is great for 2 channel, I love my pair, even though I can't give them the room they deserve. I've listened to Mojave's hotrodded X-Omni, they are amazing.
