A brilliant man. I cannot emphasize how much Apple products, under his leadership, have enhanced almost every aspect of my life. It's amazing really. He will be missed.

The sad thing is in the last decade he has invented things that really took Apple to the top. My first 'real' computer after my Commodore 64 was a Macintosh SE/30. I loved playing ShufflePuck Cafe on it.

He had at least 30 yrs to go. Unfortunately, by the time you are diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer it is too late.

God rest his soul, he was a gentleman, genius and visionary.

I write this with tears in my eyes. This was way too quick for me. I thought he had some time left, or maybe even fighting it with the resources he had available. Well, he had a brilliant life; I'm sure it was exhilarating. He will be missed.

I use his commencement speech at Stanford six years ago as a management tool, as a great example of both leadership and the attitude for a great life...do what you love, and things will happen. "Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later."

I think his creative genius will not likely be seen again in my lifetime, a year or so ago I started a thread here asking everybody what the greatest invention of there time was...a total opinion for all to answer and his ideas were always one or several of the choices-the ipod touch for me is the single coolest gadget I've ever owned. I played with that new toy for months and months everyday. I still use it almost daily 3 years later....he brought a lot of joy to people, I just hope he felt that joy at some point in his life!!! Rest in Peace!!
