I am contemplating a way to get music around the house.

I have a dedicated Mini at the big rig and want to get that music to another room and have been looking at the Sonos Zoneplayer.

If I could buy a another Mini at close to the same price, why not just get another Mini?

btw, I can hardwire everywhere in my house.

Any insights?

If you want to stay with Apple, you can keep the mini and use Airport Express to distribute music to other rooms. Works well using remote to control Itunes on the mini.

  I have owned the Sonos and even a stock mac mini will provide better sound quality (provide the rest of your audio setup is pretty good).

I was suspecting that along with all the other goodies  (like all the  capabilities that would come with hooking it up to a TV monitor, etc..)

People seem to love their Sonos's though  and I keep thinking I'm missing something ???

The sonos is cool device.  It is small, and easy to setup.  The interface is pretty cool too.  But if sound quality is important, the Sonus may be a little frustrating.  It sounds pretty good, but not great.

If you are low-med type setup, the Sonos may be perfect.  If you want the set up to sound really good, step up to the Mac mini.

Looks like I'll moving my Mini to the Den/TV room.
