The Houston Audio Society will have its first ever evening meeting on Saturday, October 8th, starting at 7:00 PM at Charles Griffin's home in the Spring Branch area. Charles is an architect by profession, and the recently completed remodeling of his home includes a wood-vaulted-ceiling media room that was designed and implemented to be both visually compelling and sonically good. I visited this room during construction and was impressed.

The meeting topic is "The Room". Charles will show his newly built room, discuss the sonic issues he addressed in the design and material choices, and demonstrate the sound of the room using his vinyl setup. Meeting attendees are invited to bring vinyl along with a bottle of your favorite wine and your significant other.

We've also invited George Sadurni of Sadurni Acoustics to tell us about his new Sadurni Acoustics front-loaded-horn speakers, which are currently making their American debut. Sadurni Acoustics speaker components are manufacured in their Mexico City facility, and the speakers are assembled and shipped from their Houston warehouse. We're planning to audition their first product, the Staccato, in a near-future meeting. http://sadurniacoustics.com/

Vistors are always welcome at our meetings. See our web page for directions. http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/houstonaudio/
