What have you learned from AudioCircle?

Hi, Folks
Thank you very much for the responds.Well,I did find new music here for sure but it was not the main reason that I asked this question.
Usually when I get in the site,I check under Bryston circle first then I go to music or DIY sites.For the first time on Thursday I took a AudioCircle tour and I was paralysed by seeing some posts.
First of all I would like to personally thanks John R that let this happen.
Secondly,Where we will end up with all the argument on different products?
The least important stuff has the longest responds and wires,cables and caps have the most attention here.
Then I saw the word WAF.Who made this now?
So, if by chance you find the right speaker(I am not trying to use the word best for speakers)that meet your needs by performance but it has a problem with WAF and they ugly,Would you buy them?
If not,then why wires and caps has to be so important.
I think with less argument and more intelligent conversation we could make this site even more enjoyable.

The most important things I learned here are about the B200/Alpha15A OB and the ''nxt'' panel from Zygadr.
Also it is a nice place to small talk.

To get riid of WAF problems you must divorce, like I do, or rent a business room to listen to your favorite records, with no moans as ''lower the volume plz'' ...

The best option is build a new room in the yard.

I must be agree with you 100%
But I have never been married or divorced.Maybe that is why I never know about WAF+ I think that I am too young for it yet.

I learned my lesseon in my young days from my mother.She still hates this stuff.The fight with her on clean your room,make no noise,turn it down,do not like music was like MAF which lead me to work hard and buy my own house then let the fun begins.

I learned that I can repeat a song or an album as much as I want. And not be considered crazy by fellow audiophiles.

I've been repeat playing two albums for over a week.

I've learned :
1. used vinyl doesn't have to be noisy. Wet-vac cleaning is fantastic.
2. DIY is not rocket science.
3. Room treatments uber alles.
4. Get off the grid!

I have learned by listening intently to all the knowledge, experiences, reviews and opinions of the AC members that it is possible to assemble a sytem that is entirely pleasing to my ear without having seen or heard any of the components prior to purchase. This circle convinced me that a pair of 7B SST2's with BP26 was the way to go for amplification. Laundrew's experience with the Esoteric X-05 turned my attention from its competitors I was considering. The Vinyl circle heavily influenced my decision to buy the VPI Classic, Benz Wood SL and especially the Ray Samuels F117 Nighthawk. Lastly Bryston's use of WireWorld cables at various shows finalized my cabling decision. These components turned out to be so good together that my 20 year old Infinity 9 Kappas are still in the loop and making me feel as if I have bought a new $15K pair of speakers.

I did not learn much from discussions at Audiocircle, I find this forum to be frequented by less experienced and knowledgeable people in comparison to some other forums. There were a few individuals that were very knowledgeable and willing to share their experience, and I enjoyed discussions with them, but unfortunately they were drowned in the noise and driven away.

I learned little and also learned that the tolerance level and gentleman like conduct here on AC(Bryston) is very,very low(for the most part) compared to other Audio Fourms if you do not have Bryston or if .....heavens forbid you change to another brand of audio gear......The attitude i feel here on AC(Bryston) is "If your not with us-Your against us"......very very immature and sad to say the least.......of course this is not all members here on AC,but the ones i speak of seem to DROWN the good guys out.

However unfair it may sound to you it could be explicable. I do not think it is rooted in Bryston’s rejection of critique but more in the individual pride of ownership, or even in the need for justification people seek for their purchasing decisions.
I prefer to discuss shortcomings of equipment rather than sing praises although it is not always received well.
On the other hand, and please forgive me for being honest in my perception which after all may be wrong as I do not keep track of who wrote what, you do tend to be overly harsh in your critique, which sometimes does not serve the purpose.

I think what you wrote is fair indeed and i agree. My harshness came from the backlash i felt from certain members on this fourm which in the end is wrong either way and serves no positive purpose in relation to Bryston.

Since the civility has been lately the subject of discussion on this forum, I must point out to your response as a prime example of civility. And I certainly can understand what you mean by the backlash from certain members.

I could get to know, learn and fall in love with a lot of new stuffs that I never known before.

Too many good small companies feature in this site that offer products that big on performance at a very realistic price tag.

Got great info and technical advices from every circle.

Be able to interactive with founders, designers and leading experts in audio industry.
