Due to Popular demand, AmpZillA 2000 and SON of AmpzillA are now available in an "optional" black faceplate

And SON of AmpZillA is now shipping. @ $3250

It is one of the cleanest power amps ever produced.

It pains me to say it, but I think the black faceplate looks worse than the blue!

yes, I can't imagine 'formal black' coming from the creator of Zilla.

Also I think there must be requirement for SST dealer to wear King Zilla suite and go under the name 'Ooga Booga'.

Incidently, there are no specs on Son of Zilla, nowhere. even in the owner manual (PDF file). Like the power output at 4 or 6 Ohms. Etc ... Who gives?

I *think* I gleaned from the website/pdf that it's a 2 x 100w @ 8ohm amp.

Sounds interesting, Brian do report on how it works w/ RM-40s if you get a chance.

That is correct. The "SON" is "rated" at 100 wpc @ 8 ohms (but very conservatively)

James provides some very detailed "graph charts", but you have to have very good eyes to read them. But they do show some incredible specs.

The faceplates are friggin ugly IMHO. That Start Trek logo has to go. For such an expensive amp, this company should do a better job of making it more aesthetic.

Actually I kind of like the black face plate. Much better than the blue. In my view I would rather pay the money for the electronics than $2k just for the case.

I totally dig the fact that this amp is so hideously obnoxious looking and that it goes against the grain of everything else out there. BUT...at the same time, man...that star trek scallop 'A' thingy is just yeechy.

Wouldn't THIS just be so much more ampzillaish?

I agree Nathan..put the 'zilla in a pimpin' suit with a pimpin' hat...and make sure it has some color to it, and not just black and white!
