They always let more stuff go during the post season.  People don't want to see a four hour game with lots of penalties.  The officiating looked pretty even handed to me. There were several plays in which Detroit db's were hanging on Saint receivers and there were no flags.

Either way, the better team won the game. Instead of complaining  about blown calls, the Lions and their wiesel coach should ask themselves why they failed to stop the Saints on every key short yardage situation and why those Saint receivers were so open all night.

Two weeks in a row, the opposing QB put up record breaking numbers on the Lions defense. You can't win games if you can't play defense.  The better team won and is playing at a very high level.  If the Saints can play like this outside the dome, I don't see them losing.

Actually the Brees fumble was correctly ruled a fumble, that same play has occurred several times to Detroit this season. The entire arm needs to be in the act of throwing and moving forward. The bad part was, either way they screwed it up. If it's a fumble its returnable, if it's an incomplete pass, it's a down. I thought that the Saints got away with a lot more and that bad spot on third down killed the lions for the game. That would have given Detroit the ball back in good field position and prevented a score.

The saints are beatable but everyone is this season. New Orleans, Detroit and green Bay in the second round would have been exciting.

So impartial of you to say.

Detroit fans are impatient because of the tragicomedy they have had to endure for the last dozen years. Their team is still rebuilding and evidently has a ways to go yet before they take over the crown. It appears, however, that most of the pieces and some of the mojo are in place. Just wait for next year. Surely you can remember when that same Saints team was laughed at and ridiculed as the Aints.

Cujo, the only things that kept Detroit in the game were the slow start by the Saints and the play of Megatron.  If they played that same game 100 times, the Saints would have won 90 times.  Detroit is just not a good team at this stage. They have some good players but are not a good team. They can't tackle, have no running game and several undisciplined players.

Just be thankful for the Cutler injury that gifted the Lions a fluke playoff opportunity.

Mike Smith is a terrible coach. Not only does he look like a cro-magnon man, he also appears to think like one, not at all creative. Giants have this locked up already. Stinky.

I was bummed on Friday to see my Pool numbers as 7 Giants, 2 Falcons.

Love this game.

Go Giants!  Eli, one of the best QB's in the NFL!  Eli has surpassed Phil Simms by throwing more touchdown passes in the post season.

Talk about impressive.  Watching the Giants game?  WOW!  That wow is reserved for the Giants.  Pity Atlanta fans.

The Giants are looking tough late in the season like they did in 2007/2008 when they beat the packers at home. Man I hope it isn't a repeat of that. Another thing mentioned by the announcers today the teams that beat the falcons in the past few postseasons went to the superbowl.....

Great defensive effort by the Giants, something that has been missing most of the year. The same can be said about their running game. They're coming together at the right time. The key next week will be if the Packers can protect Rogers from N.Y.'s pass rush. If not an upset will in the making.

At the end of the first quarter, Denver has rung up 8 yards of total offense. But don't worry because John Fox is going to keep running into the middle of the line until the Steelers don't expect it anymore. He's that kind of strategist.

Not so fast!  Tebow might never be mistaken for Brady but he looked great on that last drive.  Fox finally took off the handcuffs.

Just as I finished typing, Tebow connected on two long passes in a row ringing up a TD. OMG.

Just now, for the third time since this game started, I've seen Tebow using his snarly face. That could mean big trouble for the Pitt guys.

Just now I heard Phil Simms say, "This is what they so well, the Denver Broncos, throwing the ball down the field". Must be the first time he's seen them play.

But you can't argue with the score - Bronkies are up 14-6 in the second quarter.

Another great drive by Tebow.  It's still early but Denver is finally playing aggressively and it's paying off.

They need to put the hurt on big Ben and try to get a shot at that ankle.  Give Pittsburgh a taste if their own medicine.
