Big Blue is going to have a tough time with Atlanta, but they can definitely win it.
The Lions handed it to the Bears, before the Bears started playing well. Rumor around here is that Cutler started to disregard some of the pathetic play calling of Martz and did his own thing for a while. Either way, they were a different team when they faced the Lions for the second game. You must be kidding about the Packers/KC game because it's completely unrelated to the Lions' loss. The Packers simply overlooked a bad KC team and played poorly. The Lions lost to a Packer team, in an important game, that was playing with backups including a QB who had not started a game all year. The backup QB up record numbers against the Lions' starting defense and you are complaining about a call? The Lions should have beaten the Pack by more than the touchdown they lost as a result of an admittedly bad call. Also, Cutler wasn't injured because of a bad O'line. He broke his thumb trying to tackle a guy who intercepted one of his passes. It was a freak play that killed the Bears' season. It's not a stretch to say the Bears gave Detroit the wildcard slot. The Bears had a cake schedule at the end of the season and managed to lose to some of the worst teams in the league before throwing in the towel on Hanie. They would have beaten KC, Seattle, Denver and possibly Oakland with Cutler and would have probably beaten those bad teams with McCown at QB. Detroit is lucky to be in the playoffs but their luck appears to have run out. I'm curious to see how this young Lions team does against a legitimate playoff team, playing all of their starters. Both teams are at full strength and playing in a dome, which is good for the Lions. Megatron is the most dominant offensive player in the NFL (non-QB, IMO) and he has a good young QB with a strong arm throwing him the ball. They can score points but can they stop the Saint's offense? This will be a good test to see if the Lions are ready for primetime or if their season was a fluke. This is the year of the upset and I expect at least one or two of the big teams to be knocked out. The Giants did it a few years ago when they came into Lambeau and knocked out the Pack in route to a Superbowl victory. I hope we see some upsets this upcoming weekend. Anything is possible. Cheers,J
Like the Broncos, the Giants are the best of a bad division.
disagree..........Eagles were by far the better team down the stretch, trouble is they forgot to play all 16 games this year. Bottom line..........NFC East is a joke.
Here is some picks for this weekend - http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d825c0948/article/jones-gives-falcons-extra-aerial-weapon-in-battle-with-giants?module=HP11_content_streamThe saints are hot right now so I will give the W to them/Steelers/Giants/Bengals.
Denver is probably not a good SEC team at this point, Jackman. But this game is just the sort of setup that produced Tebow's earlier successes, a seriously compromised opponent, so who knows. While I agree that there seems to be no way the Bronkies can win this game, something tells me the unthinkable might just happen. If it does and Denver advances, I'm sure all of us would agree this time that it was a fluke. And next week at either Baltimore or New England, how do you like Tebow's chances there?
Broncos will need luck certainly but there appears to be something else perking. Reports say that Brady Quinn has been taking half the snaps in practice this week. He's rusty, previously unsuccessful and may not know what to do without the clipboard he's so used to holding, but They're saying that Fox will have Tebow on a short leash and Quinn ready to sub in. Watch out, Pittsburgh - Quinn rhymes with Flynn.
