It's fun watching Tebow lower his shoulder and run over a DB.
How many INT's does he have? Exactly. Tebow was a winner last year and this year. What points that out is his 4th quarter play. That's the winners' quarter.

One INT but three or four fumbles (not sure how many were recovered). It's a nice story, but the rest of the Broncos deserve a lot of credit. That's basically what everyone on the Bears said: http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/7344747/chicago-bears-brian-urlacher-calls-denver-broncos-tim-tebow-good-running-back

And I would say that if he was better in the other quarters, they wouldn't have been about to lose that game. The ONLY reason they had the opportunity was because of bad execution by their opponent. The team hasn't even said for certain that they want to commit to him as their starter going forward, but they likely will if the team makes the playoffs. He's the anti-Jay Cutler.

If he had been bagging groceries like Kurt Warner and came out of nowhere, I might be interested  :thumb:

Anyways... are we pretty much accepting the fact that Green Bay is going undefeated this season? As much as I love my team, I don't see them beating the Pack at home unless they rest Rodgers for the playoffs.

Harrison has done this repeatedly over the years.  This is the 3rd concussion he has caused JUST AGAINST THE BROWNS in the last couple of years.  He is absolutely unrepentant, argues that he should not have to change his play, denies culpability, and has even threatened to quit if he isn't allowed to use the helmet to tackle.  He even redid his contract to lower his game pay this year, most likely anticipating this event.  He should be suspended for >5 games.  Suh simply suffers from roid rage, but Harrison has made a conscious decision to flaunt the rules and the authority of the league.  One more time, and he should be out of the game for good.

Unfortunately, Colt has a long history with concussion.  I remember three from his high school days, and probably one at UT.  It's a joke that his Dad is bitching about the Brown's sending him back in with concussion, since he did the same thing when he was coaching Colt in high school.

I agree with Scott. Harrison is a jerk. He thinks he has a right to maim others just because he is doing so in the context of a football game. But take a look at what this macho crap has cost us this year. How many utterly lame QBs are playing and how many other important players are sidelined? Enough damage is done during the normal course of play. There is no room in the game for a deliberate crippler like Harrison.
Part of the problem is the refs though. As soon as we get a rule punishing deliberate assassins like Harrison, the zebras will start flagging incidental contact at times. The league needs better rules but it also needs better refs. Jeff Triplette isn't the only bad one but he may be the worst.

I believe the Rooneys have too much say in how the game is played and officiated. And Harrison works for them.

Deliberate helmet to helmet might be the most dangerous play in the game. For all of the fuss about horse collars and face masks I've not seen too many injuries actually caused by those types of plays. The play I mentioned where Urlacher went at Scheffler was a good example of a play that should be cracked down on hard.

I'd honestly rather see the league loosen up about some of the facemask penalties on QBs. I saw at least four times where a defensive linemen would accidentally touch the top of a quarterbacks head (going around an end trying to get a hand on the QB) and got a personal foul. There are other silly examples like one play where a qbs pocket was closing in and he tripped over his linemans foot but they called it roughing the passer because of the way the qb went down. Any time a quarterback is touched now they put their arms up for a flag.

Cujo, every once in a while the refs miss an obvious facemask call like they did in the Minnesota Detroit game.  If you are in favor of allowing facemask tackles I will go in record and say you are insane. That is a very dangerous activity and needs to be flagged.  Of course it would. And things easier on the Lions who seem to do it more than any other team.

Maybe they should also allow kicking of players when they are on the ground.  The Lions would benefit from that rule change as well.  That Urlacher tackle was just clean football. It was a shoulder hit and was not dirty. Harrison is the worst culprit and always leads with his head.

The Urlacher hit was not a shoulder hit. Why would Urlacher and Scheffler come up both shaking their heads?  :duh: Urlacher sat on the ground dazed after that hit, unfortunately the camera angle which made it clearest I couldn't find on Youtube in my brief time searching for it. The league is going to have to go to all arm tackles as guys just simply get too big and too fast. The human body can only take so much punishment.

Where did I say I was in favor of allowing facemask tackles? My point was that the emphasis has been on those types of plays and they probably aren't as dangerous as helmet to helmet plays. It's fine if they want to give 15 yard penalties to CLEAR facemasks and horse collars, but how many times do we see borderline calls? Horse collar tackles are debated probably 50% of the time. Face masks are one thing, but if a defender touches a QB's helmet, even incidentally, it's a penalty. They can't go low, they can't go high, they have 300+ lb lineman pushing them around, they have to know to pull off from the QB within .1 seconds of a ball being released...it's becoming quite difficult for the DL now. If a QB is running with the ball, the protection doesn't stop. The league has a lot of big QBs now...not just tall QBs, BIG QBs. Tebow, Ben Roth, Cam Newton, and the countless others being developed or coming up in the draft (Luck). The athlete QBs in the past were all one trick ponies, but that's changing.

Well, Kansas City has put an end to the discussions of an undefeated season by Green Bay...

The Saints have locked up the second seed in the NFC.

Go Saints!!!

A game you think the Packers should have won easily but they looked like crap - best thing they did on D was stopping the chiefs on the 4th down play...stopping them from a score. Way too many dropped balls in the 1st half....hopefully it is a kick in the butt for them and they win the last two at home. I was hoping for the 16 - 0 but that is gone so can just hope to make it to the SB again.

Colts win 1st today.

Skins beat Giants.

I didn't believe the Patriots defense could be so bad but indeed it is.  Denver running all over them.

errrrrr!  No defense (all year) no offense.  It was bound to happen.  Just in time to get pissed off and carry it through the rest of the season (bears lions) into the playoffs.
Would have like to see an undefeated season but I'd much rather make the Super Bowl.

exactly! A perfect season would be great, but this makes certain things easier. Now, they can rest players without issue the last game or two.

The Lions had a nice win over Oakland. The Raiders played pretty well, probably about as well as they're capable of. Palmer looked sharp and their DL was disruptive vs. the very average line.

The best they can get is the 2nd seed but it isn't assured.

These are the typical knee jerk reactions made by people who don't know the facts.  Harrison is repentant, he has spent a great deal of practice time amending his play so it's within the rules.  Before this incident he hadn't been fined since Nov 30, 2010, a testament to his altered play.  The McCoy hit was more unfortunate than willful.  Was he wrong last year, in most cases yes, and he paid the fines levied.  Was he stupid in calling out the Commissioner during the lockout, yes.  Is he being singled out and paying an extra high penalty for these previous mistakes, way over and above what any other player would receive for the same offense, yes.  Is this fair, yes, he made his own bed here.  But don't say he hasn't altered his play or is unrepentant.

For all the gentlemen decrying these "illegal" hits, where were you years ago?  We didn't hear from any of you back then.  You were all fine watching the best hits of the week replayed on ESPN, cheering the players getting slobberknocked.  You're all sheep jumping on a popular bandwagon.  And for your information, the league could care less about player health, look at the way they've treated former players and their health problems.  The only thing the league is worried about is the massive lawsuits that players could bring to court after the league was made publicly aware of possible long term brain damage from concussions.  They haven't done a darn thing for the players already suffering from that damage 'cause that would just be money out of their pocket.  Their only concern is future liability and what it might cost them.

This is a product folks, packaged and sold from Pee Wee, through High School and College, and finally the NFL.  The players are disposable cogs designed and molded to present that product.  You are making the players millionaires and the owners billionaires, how many of you have millions in the bank?  The players and owners are willing participants in this grab for cash.  Why are you the least bit concerned about anything they do?

Very disappointing.
