I will regretfully be selling my RM30M's.  These are perhaps the last cabinets that Brian had crafted in the Bay Area.  They are a traditional Rosewood finish, as opposed the the very reddish, piano laquer finish of the current models.  They are in great shape.  Brian had graciously performed an upgrade to the Xover at one point.  I have no idea what to ask for them....I would appreciate your feedback as to the market value.

My guess is that about $2000 for the pair would be in the ballpark for a used pair of these fine speakers.

While it is only a generalization, some price used gear at 50% of the New Purchase Price or MSRP.

This is only a ballpark and the true value is whatever a buyer is willing to pay and you are willing to take.  Do consider what options and upgrades (if any) were built into the speaker in your pricing accounting. 

The RM30 quickly became a CLASSIC VMPS design and is one of Brian's most popular models.

Well set up and tuned properly with good electronics, it is unbeatable for 2 channel listening at anywhere close to its price range.

I sold my RM30M's with waveguides in black a year and a half ago for $1700.00. They were beauties. I think the pictures are still here on AC from when i sold them. I price pretty fairly & aggressive though. I want mine back.

As requested, I took a couple of pics, but can figure out how to upload to the Circle....I'll be happy to email directly to anyone who is interested.  As I mentioned, Brian did a crossover mod about a year after purchase and the Ribbon Tweeter mod was performed.  The rosewood veneer  has no scratches, chips, or marring.  The black painted bases have scuffs from the vacuum cleaner.  I am the original owner in a non-smoking home.

No disrespect to Dunspoff, but I think these VMPS for sale ads belong in the classifieds and not on the manufacture’s forum. I have bought a few sets of VMPS speakers on the used market and even from the trading post on this site so I am not against the resale of these great speakers.

Brax, I agree with you.  It was not my intent to market these in the forum but to try to get feedback from members as to what might be a reasonable price to ask when I post the for sale ad.  I had hoped for more responses to get a better average of past sale prices, since I have not been able to find many transactions with the RM30s

I purchased a pair of RM30C's off of Audiogon last year for $1500 plus shipping.  I felt that the seller could have got 200-300 more, but I'm not complaining.  I think it is a matter of timing too as these have very limited mass appeal and a lot depends on whether the right potential buyer happens to be looking at that time.  Mine are the Piano black finish, no auricaps or TRT, with the 1st gen CDWG's.  There are also some minor scratches and blemishes that don't appear to be part of your offering.  Good luck with the sale.
