Previous albums Grotesk and Jazz for the Deaf were also very, very good but this new one is outrageous. Can't wait for these guys to return to the US sometime. This is must see stuff.

I think it's excellent. Yes, it's a bit derivative of Tool, but what doesn't draw on that which preceded it?

I took a listen to this today on Grooveshark. Yes, sometimes seemingly a bit of a Tool rip-off, but they do so convincingly and with great musicianship. And who am I to complain about more Tool?? I give it the thumbs up!

Also listening to Astra-The Black Chord, which got a lot of raves on progressiveears.com recently, but I can't say that it works all that well for me.

How to Play Guitar

Strum any combination of the following:

1) A chord

2) E minor chord

3) G chord

4) D chord

Note: the faster and louder you strum, the more metal you are.

A typical beginner. Note the power of the guitar is forcing the hair away from the head. It is common for many guitarists to become bald later in life due to this phenomenon.

You might also want to give Dead Soul Tribe a listen.

The also touch on a Tool vibe, but with enough originality to keep them fresh and interesting.

Great melodies and mood, and a great singer.

I should have mentioned Freak Kitchen. They've been killer across Europe and in most other places but their music has been hard to get in the US until now. LaserCD.com out of NJ will be releasing their entire back catalog over the course of the year and their new album, Cooking With Pagans is due toward year end. Freak Kitchen are not tremendously proggy, but they are definitely metal from left field. Check it out.

SAINT VITUS (Lillie: F-65) the new album since 1995 and still heavy and old school.

CANDLEMASS (Psalms for the dead)
Based on what they said this is the final album and the last one with Robert Lowe who left the band 6 days before this release.

KREATOR (Phantom Antichrist)powerfull album and concept
I bought all 3 albums and very busy with SAINT VITUS.

Wow Prelude, what wonderful news you bring! I swear, I am totally in the dark about what new metal releases there are.

Even though it's not really "candlemass" to me without Messiah singing, I still do enjoy most everything they've done with different singers nevertheless. (I just think it makes more sense to call different groups of indiviuals by a different collective name when they make something together. But that's not how it works. Oh well.)
