My building just shook and rumbled.  Lots of stuff on the wall rattled around.  No real damage that I can see.  It was weird.  My wife up on a high rise in Tysons Corner was evacuated.

Hey!

Crazy man! I felt it here in Queens, NYC  :o My apartment, an old 3 story townhouse shake a bit. I thought it was a big truck passing by but it wasn't.

I've never experience anything like this in my 21 years here in NYC.

It wasn't a big one like you see on the news but I can feel it and hear the shelf banging a against the wall a bit for a few seconds. I hope this build can stand the quake if there is more after shocks.  :?

I'm checking the local news right now here in NYC.

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Not in Denver, but down south near the CO-NM border. 'Just' a 5.3, but that's the biggest quake in CO in over 40 years.

Weird that 2 places not known for geologic instability get hit at about the same time.

Mini tsunami in my pool! Water was lapping up over the edge. House was swaying, and my beer fell over.

I'm in DC and it was definitely stronger than we're used to in these parts - we live in an older farm house and I had to grab my computer monitor so it wouldn't fall off my 2nd floor  desk.  Fortunately my stand mounted monitors downstairs didn't fall over, but it was enough of a warning that I moved them to a couch in case there is more in store for us.

Felt it in this 13 story office building in Lowell, MA.  I live in New Hampshire, the Granite State, and we do get small tremors often enough. This felt about the same until I saw the headlines start popping up.

Felt it on Long Island. I live on the third floor in my building and at first I thought the fat lady upstairs was stomping around again...until I realized she wasn't home and the building was moving under my feet...dishes were rattling in the cabinets. It was especially alarming since I'd never experienced this before...hopefully not again.

Good idea, there will be after shocks tonight and tomorrow..

Also felt it on Long Island. It was weird because I was sitting in a chair in a ground floor room on a 5" concrete slab over a few inches of EPS insulation over a few inches of gravel and the chair was rocking!!! I'd never been in an earthquake before; it was kind of fun.
