for all time: Your Song by Elton John.

i like "your song"; i think it's on e-j's second best album.  (behind tumbleweed connection.) and, bernie taupin is a good song writer.  but he really dropped the ball on this one, totally ruined it for me, and it ruined it, ever since i first heard what would otherwise be a beautiful song:

"So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen"

uh, EXCUSE ME?!?  you expect me to believe that the love of your life, whose eyes are so sweet - that you cannot even remember what color they are?!?   it doesn't get much dumber than that...  :duh:

ymmv,

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley's version is my favorite but...
In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel is "our song."

Oh so very yes indeed!! Twice!!!
Peter Gabriel with Your Eyes!!!

One of the very very best!!!

Actually, P Gabriel and Kate Bush and "don't Give up" is equally beguiling, also very like an alluring facet....

All time fav? Can't say for sure, but dragged this out of the "old stuff" discs the other day and got goose bumps. I'm not a huge country fan, but Wynona's sultry voice is just sooo dang enticing on this one...grabs me for whatever reason.

Holy hell man, it's like you reached into my life and pulled the two best songs ever.  :o I'm serious, Your eye's is one of my all time favs. The only reason I wouldn't say 'Hallelujah' is because I'm not entirely sure it's a 'love song' but it is one of my top favorites of all time as well... The Jeff Buckley version of course. Great picks my friend!  :thumb:
