Just hooked up the tenor preamps( arrived on thursday ) to the tenor 350mono blocks .......the combo is simply magnifique!!......... and finally makes  the Vr 7se sing!!!.......which made the hairs at the back of my neck and forearms stand with global goosebumps.........performance equals and betters the vr 9se at times.....I have spend a day with manny and albert in west corvina in late 2009 and listen to the Vr 9se /pass amp/music first/wadia system........music so real forgot about lunch which albert had agreed to sponsor!
Years ago the Inital plan was to listen to music in a much used and lived in ......functional living space....which was a bit lively...
For the first time I forgot about time and space while listening to music ........and pure sweet music in abundance.
"simply Magnifique.......freedom at point zero all you sonic surfers.
having difficulty uploading pics......look at my gallery
cheers

Very impressive violet but what an investment you've got there....THAT made the hairs on my arms and neck stand on end.  Color me a little green with envy though  :green:

Feels GREAT! Except my wife says she doesn't like the stupid grin on my face

What, pray tell, are those gorgeous footers?

Geardaddy

Very nice system.  I have heard good things about the new Tenor hybrids....

HAITIMAN

Amazing system....and the room is very tastefully done. Inviting.

This is the kind of setup that I dream of owning one day.

That is one lovely preamp  :thumb:

violetmachan

Thanks guys
Jack keep smiling........the footers are a must for the vr 7se......excellent build with a levelling and locking device.....by an English firm that specialises in hospital grade instruments with Mike the owner who's a audiophile....hence these high precision instruments ( www.trackaudio.co.uk)......at reasonable price.I had used a few footers and rollers supplied by albert.....but did not address the issue of a cohesive lower midrange from the vr 7se....my much lived in lively livingspace was inferred as the culprit by many.....well
With the the addition of the tenor hybrid preamps along with the matched 350m tenor mono blocks........the beast of Von schweikert audio .....just sings....good old music......funny it just fills the room with music.....that it makes no difference what your front end instruments are........I am sure Albert will be quite surprised......for a now defunct project!!

Cheers guys

Those 7s are great speakers but every time I see them this image pops into my head :D

Hello Violetmachan,

Wow, very nice setup you have created.
I can imagine you are a happy man and very happy with the sound. I know the VR 7 SE can sing. We were at Harve's place last october to meet his 7's and we all enjoyed them. Also interesting is the item about the spikes, thanks for sharing the pictures.

Good luck and over all, enjoy the music.

Nice!

I'm with Gavin, at first glance, it looks like a pair of Darth Vader's staring out at you. Was wondering if that sofa has any effect on your soundstage?

Henry

In my old place I had a couch that partially blocked the woofers of my 4s, 5s and later 9s. It didn't do any harm and the M/Ts of the 7s are higher than those of the speakers mentioned.

I couldn't help but notice Violet's art collection. There's a lot of great stuff on his walls.

great to hear from you Henry!

There's only one thing you and Violet have lacking.........VisiUN Signature center speakers. Hehehehehehe!

Okay, I skimped. I went with the non-signature in my HT but that's because that's where my 4 SRs are  :thumb:

Hello guys
Very observant!!!
The artist is me......aaah....... were done to trap and diffuse sound.......few of them are proper acoustic absorbers with art work overlay......especially the one one the back wall......a lot of the front facing wall has very subtle panels of wall color incorporated in to the greater scheme of things.......
The room is nice and airy space.....was also very lively to start with.....it's a laterally inverted L-shaped room ,with the long arm of the L measuring 14feet by 30 feet and the short arm 16 by 24 feet.......and the audio/video is setup on the long arm .
The sofa on the right wall .....unfortunately is restricted by space.....but partial obstruction of the woofer does not seem to impede the soundstage.......I must say the sweet spot  for the vr7 se is not a regular sofa ......but an elevated bar stool (will enclose a photo )..... with a height of 3 feet......design flaws in tall speaker design with out  forward angulation of the monitor units.........
I noticed that even in manny/ alberts place in west corvina when I was  demoing the vr 9se and  I was seated on a barstool close to to the sweet spot....probably...something to do with monitors/midrange level and seat height and arrival of sound to the ears and it's perception.
I do plan to  clear the front wall and move the racks to the left side wall and move the speakers a little closer together with only the mono blocks placed beside them ......with the hope of a better sound stage....well strange with the current set up and with the introduction of the tenor pre amps it seems to control the music so well......I am reluctant to any changes for now......and I am getting goosebumps every night when i listen to music......difficult to put to words!!
Es437.......very vaderisque must say.....albert be a star war fan......or vader must be his middle name.....albert Von vader.....the dark knight of speaker design.
Better stop boring you guys
Cheers
