Deauthorizing "dead" computers for itunes
« on: 15 Jul 2011, 03:20 pm »
I've had somewhat bad luck with the computer I built and have been thru three motherboards.  iTunes thinks I'm on my third computer, but I'm really on one.  Can I deauthorize all my computers, then reauthorize my "current" computer?  Are there any detriments to this?

Thanks.

Apple will allow deauthorization of everything once a year, IIRC.  It's in the drop-down menu, "deauthorize all."  Deauthorization does not prevent reauthorizing a computer previously deauthorized, so i don't see any problems right off the bat.  Good luck.  Cordially,

BTW, it's in one of the iTunes drop-down menus (I'm at work, so I can't pull it up for the specific one).
