Hi,

That brings up a good point and one I should be clearer on.  :duh:

The wireless computer or interface used by the customer is ONLY used for CONTROL of the ATTACHED DRIVES on the BDP-1 - it is not the source of the digital files and is completely out of the circuit when it comes to processing the digital data :thumb:

Actually, what i meant was that in order to get to the more sophisticated options, like streaming radio and the creation and use of playlists, one needs to have a computer on. Otherwise it is basically just a cassette player without cassettes. It only does play, stop, previous, next. Nothing more...

That's true but it has nothing to do with the quality of the processing of the digital files. I was making the point that the whole point of the new Bryston 'cassett deck' was to process high resolution digital files without the noisy environments and multi-tasking issues of typical laptop and desktop computers.

I for one agree 100%.How I hate to hear the slightest sound from a pc if I have music on, really gets in the way even if it's very low.

Its the sound coming off the pc, but its also the high pitch wale that gets amplified by your amp due to the noise that comes down the pipeline through AC or signal connects.

I quess the point Anonemouse was making is, that though being of the highest technical quality, we lost on the HumanComputerInterface side of things, and need another machine to be able to operate the BDP to some userfriendly extent...

I believe/hope that because of that indescrepancy Bryston should/will keep on putting a lot of effort in improving the interface MAX/MINI to the BDP1 to a more up to date and userfriendly version asap. The mere existence of rather a large topic in the board with a search for the optimal interface proves the need for that.

Very much willing to contribute to that, btw

Yes the great thing about the BDP-1 is the hardware is set and the rest is software development.
