Guitar Center Sale: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul
« on: 2 Jul 2011, 02:04 pm »
Hey guys, I just received an ad for the 4th of July sale at Guitarcenter.com and in stores.  They have some decent guitars on sale this weekend for an extra 15% off.  This Joe Bonamossa Les Paul is a very good deal (with the Stripe15 coupon code) at around $1,200, delivered.

This is a US made, nitro finished, goldtop with Burstbuckers, and a chunky neck.  I have not played this guitar but really like Burstbuckers and the Gibson chunky necks are very easy to  play.  I prefer it to the thin "C" necks because it is more comfortable for my hands (my hands are average size).  For the money, this looks to be a great deal.

Also, if this isn't in your budget or you want a nice lightweight guitar with P90's, this one is an amazing deal (with a catch!).  Oh, before I tell you the catch, here is the guitar.  A two pickup, lightweight, US made Gibson with Gibson P90's, ebony fretboard, and a nitro finish.  It is lightweight and although I have not played it, I have an '07 LP Gibson DC Special with the same pickups.  This guitar is actually less expensive and very cool looking.  The only catch is that is is a Jonas Brothers edition and says "JB" on the guitar.  You can pretend the JB is Jeff Beck and play on.   Either way, I can't believe a guitar like this is selling so inexpensively.  I'd give it consideration even if it said Hannah Montana on it!

With coupon code it comes in under $600, delivered.

If the JB was a double cut that would have been the bomb!

I have the SG Classic with double P90's and it really sounds good!

I love SG's and I also love (and own!) LP double cut specials but I'm not a fan of double cut traditional LP's.  If I was going to go that route, I might get a PRS.  Other than that, you and I have similar taste in guitars!  My Special has two P90's and (if you like P90's, and I do) it sounds pretty good.  Especially when a better guitarist (someone other than me) is playing it.  That little Jonas Brothers LP with the P90's is a smokin' deal.  I  can't believe a US made Gibby with nitro finish and ebony fretboard is  going for so little.  It's like a really nice house with a great location and really bad wallpaper.  Maybe the superficial is scaring people away.  I'd snap it up in a heartbeat if already didn't have so many guitars!

Lastly, Joe B plays a Les Paul single cut so I don't think the boys in Nashville could launch a JB model that was different than the one he plays.  These must not be selling well because they are being sold for way cheaper than a guitar of this quality should sell for.  Heck, it's way less (around 75% lower price) than the Slash model and although it's a much different model (the Slash model is admittedly a higher end axe), Joe B is a way better guitarist (and I'm a big Slash fan) IMO.

Here is Joe rocking his LP:

One more, I love this guy, he is an amazing talent:
