Should a power bar be used or not?
« on: 6 Jun 2011, 04:26 am »
I have a monster power bar that my cdp is plugged into as well as the dac/pre.  The amp is plugged directly into the wall outlet.  I think Frank recommends the amp be directly plugged into a wall outlet.  Would it be better to plug the dac/pre directly into a wall outlet rather than the monster power bar?  With my old system I heard an improvement when I had the cdp plugged directly into a wall outlet, but I didn't have a separate dac at that time.  Your thoughts...

smwick,
I have tried both variations:Monster HTS power bar vs direct to wall outlet. In my system, I could not hear a difference. That being said, its important to note that I was using a single 20 amp circuit in my listenting room. I think one might have more noticable results using several circuits to isolate various system components. YMMV.

Try both ways and decide for yourself. After all, you are the one listening to your system.  :dunno:
