Is there a better way to burn CDs?
« on: 28 May 2011, 04:35 pm »
Picked up an iMac last week and burned my first CD this morning.
Ripped using AIFF with error correction.
Burned using Audio CD format.
Sounds great but you guys might know a better way.

Did I select the best settings to burn the disc using iTunes?

Is there some third party software for this job that you like better?

I have a Squeeze Box that's been collecting dust so at some point I might throw it in the mix.  Right now I only care about making the best copies possible.

Thanks,
Jeff

I don't think there is a better way...especially when the Itunes burned discs actually have the track titles and other pertaining info in them.

I use a program called Burn.

http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html

Its free, which always works for me.

It will burn CD's, MP3 disks and DVD-A.

It can burn FLAC (to DVD-A) and can make mp3 disks from your iTunes purchases, which are great for the car.

Cheers!

Thanks y'all.
AIFF format in iTunes sounds as good as the old third party software I used for windows.

I'm going to check out Burn soon.
