I really am. This crossover build will give me the courage to get into my Virtue amp and give it Sonicaps with platinum bypass caps next.

These insignias will not be my main rig for long. I have enclosures for the N3 ready to go. just wanted to try these since it was cheap as a first project, get my feet wet.

I finally have everything working (my first crossover build, and it required some reworking and completely starting over again until it was completely perfect in every way) and have been burning in for some time.

I am more than impressed. I am shocked. No $90 (or $30, lol, whatever) speaker has the right to sound like this. I will post a complete build thread with impressions, etc, tommorrow.

Ugh. Yeah, they are mighty nice speakers. I have them matched with a 10" ported sub right now and I've got them on sand-filled stands and in my little room I am basically in heaven.

I want to write a review but the big pain is pulling the pictures off my phone. If anyone owns a Windows phone can understand what a cumbersome process this is. You can't just plug your phone into your PC and pull pics off simply as that, you have to install ZUNE, and jump through hoops, and pull off each individual picture one at a time. It sucks.

But the speakers are nice. The GR upgrade kit is worth every penny.

Better than nice. These will be my "sleepers". Oh hey, you've got some speakers huh? Bring them over and compare them to my insignia's. I got them for $90 at Best Buy.

Like a 500 horsepower Civic hatchback.

Dammit I should be very angry but this is a learning experience. I dropped the speaker just a few feet (moved my amp and my speaker wires are coathanger stiff and just pulled the speaker off the stand.) and the driver broke from the magnet inside the box. It's toast.

Anyone know how to order replacement drivers for these things? Outta be pretty cheap.

Sorry to ear about your troubles.  The speaker is made by Radiient Technologies for BB, you might start there.  Another solution is to buy a used pair from eBay or Craigs and steal the driver from one.

Huh, I was actually able to repair the speaker driver and it works perfectly. Before attempting to repair it, I'd called INsignia. No go. Then I tried Radiient. Their phone is actually disconnected. Luckily there are lots of these on EBAY as noted.

But I was able to pop the magnet back in and it's held in place with super glue. It's metal, so it's a very strong bond, the speaker cosmetically and functionally is the same as before.
