A friend brought one of these over tonight. He had just bought it and wasn't able to get it to work properly. I'm afraid I wasn't either. While it showed up immediately as an input on my OS/X laptop, selecting it made the input volume dance around at the top end of the scale. The gain control on it seemed to make no difference. In retrospect we should have tried it on a Windows laptop as well (which is what he had). I couldn't think of a way to just play the mic input out through the speakers (anyone?).
I guess I'd urge caution on that one based on tonight's experience. Has anyone had success with it?
