My amps are on unless i turned em off. I turn them them off when they are not on. some times i leave them off and i think its better they are not on.

All in all they are on unless i turn them off.
I propose that this one becomes forum’s sticky as it offers excellent information and guidelines on the subject to many that seek the answer.

About 12 years ago I was doing a recording with Oscar Peterson and Ray Brown and Jack Renner from Telarc in a recording studio in Toronto called Eastern Sound.

While I was sitting in one studio the owner of the studio came in and asked if I was with Bryston. I said yes... and he said... "please follow me". Gee's I thought what have I screwed up now!  He takes me into another studio and there behind a glass enclosure are 6 Bryston amplifiers with green lights a glowing ... which power the main monitoring speakers in that studio. He says to me "how long do you think those amps have been on?"  I say - a while I hope without any issues.

He says - "18 years"!

I smile. :D

Hi James

I remember them well (the Brytons), as a producer in Multi-Image productions back in 82/83 we used Eastern to record the voice overs, I noticed the Brystons and soon after I was off to Long and McQuade to add  a 2BLP to my Electronic Music studio.

For 20 years from ST to SST total of 9 Bryston amps been on and never had any problem.I travel a lot and for security, I do not see any good reason to leave any of my electronics on so I turn them off.  :thumb:
