No actually, my fridge is just across the opening to the kitchen, but I do know at least one guy that fits your description; audiojerry! He's got a beer fridge 2 feet from his speakers.  And that's no joke!  Heh! heh!

Well, if you were to do a phase inversion, and get rid of the red and black distortion ...

Polarity is reversed, you will have to take care of the distortion yourself...very slowly if your lucky :-)

I had a Cary tube amp from the early 90's, did not like it one bit. I own AKSA amps now, and like 'em a lot. I'm still a tube fan. Right now I'm listening to a pair of vintage Dynaco Mk III amps with a Triode Electronics driver board. You can carry on all you like about their supposed flaws but that won't stop me from enjoying listening to them.

Nobody's trying to stop you enjoying those James Bongiorno designs John, the last tube audio he ever did as a member of Dynaco or otherwise.

I finally got around to looking this up. As I thought, Bon Giorno had nothing at all to do with the design of the Mk III, which was first sold in 1957 I believe. Bon Giorno did not join Dynaco until 1972.

"in 1972 was hired by David Hafler to replace himself at Dynaco as Chief engineer. There I designed the Stereo 400, and also made contributions to the AF6 am/fm tuner"

If only you had mentioned the vintage ... :P

BTW, for you Bezerkley types, only Bon Jovi is spellled that way, Bongirono is one word.

Sorry about that John, I can't help myself, I just love teasing academic people. My wife is also a professor with a tenure, University of Belgrade, my father was a professor, my uncle was a professor and dean, my aunt was a teacher, so let's just say I have some experience. :P

Cheers amigo,

and the Bongiorno (my pardons) design:

This is just to let interested parties know that on my site, http://www.zero-distortion.com, in the download section, you can find quite a few schematics of well and little known audio products, several very interesting technical texts, and a number of data sheets for better known transistors and op amps.

Free for all.
