Well I swapped the tubes and it is the same. It must be in the amp just not sure how to trace.

Well here is the last update. It turns out it was not a speaker at all. I had some bad tube sockets. Replace them and all is well.

Seems like rollo was the only one with the right answer, congrats to him.  Now that it's ID'd as a tube problem should the thread be moved to the tubophile circle......nah, leave it here as a lesson in troubleshooting.  Glad you're up and running quietly again mjock3.
