From what I read the Lexicon is used in Rolls Royce cars, so you know right there its a good product. The MC-12EQ is over $10,000 with a recent price reduction, that  maximizes 2 channel sources to MC.

Dang, I'm envious, that's gotta sound sweet!

I enjoy the Lexicon greatly. I purchased it in January 2004 and it has provided non stop pleasure ever since. To date I have not heard a SSP or receiver that comes close to the surround experience the Lexicon can give and that's quite a statement considering the MC-12 was originally launched in 2001 I believe.

Well, that is your opinion and of course you are entitled to it BUT MOST recordings are 2 channel.I have owned some top flight pre/pros and they cannot compare to a dedicated stereo preamp like the Bryston BP26(imo).

That's an interesting statement as I find the stereo image of my Lexicon MC-12BEQ/Bryston 4B-SST/Denon DVD-A1UDCI/Paradigm Studio 100v2/Ixos speaker cables in my crappy apartment with hardwood floors and non acoustically treated walls is every bit the equal of the setup at my local dealers which consists of a $12,000 Sim Audio/Moon CD player, and equally expensive (I think) Sim Audio/Moon integrated amp/Bowers & Wilkins 804 Diamonds/Siltech speaker cables in an acoustically treated room but maybe I'm hard of hearing :)

That's what I love about this hobby, so much of it is subjective and results is a wide range of experiences.

I just thought I would revive my old thread as this discussion has finally become reality, better late then never I guess  :green: Since I posted this topic a couple years back I decided to pursue putting together more of the B&W system before adding monos so I added a pair of 800 Diamonds this past Spring and now I have B&W Diamonds for all of my 5 main speakers. I had been bi-amping my 802's, now my 800's with two 4B-SST's. Along the way I had decided on the 7B's to replace the 4's and as I was in the process of solidifying the deal an opportunity presented itself to get a pair of 28B's instead so I took it. So sometime next month I should be taking delivery of a pair of 28's. I'm really excited as I thought I would never get to own these monsters. Once the 28's are installed I may use of the 4's to bi-amp once again my 802's which are now my surrounds.

Congrats Rod!  Glad everything worked out for you.  You'll have to report back to us once you have a listen  :thumb:

Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to getting them.

Unfortunately these beauties will have to sit on the floor for some time as I don't have the funds to get a new rack. 7's would have been easy, I could have simply swapped out my 4's but the 28's are a different story taking up much more vertical space. I'll literally have to sit one on top of the other.
